I Flourish: Train-the-Trainer Course in Proactive Mental Health Self-Care

Most mental health support is reactive — focused on crisis response and treatment after problems arise. Yet coaches are uniquely positioned to do something far more impactful: help individuals, teams, and organizations create the daily conditions that prevent crises and promote genuine well-being. Proactive Mental Health train-the-trainer courses provide you with the tools, materials, and confidence to do just that — while also opening a powerful pathway to grow your coaching practice. As you deliver training within organizations, you naturally build relationships with participants who experience your expertise firsthand. Many of those participants become ideal candidates for ongoing one-on-one coaching, allowing you to expand your client base.

This 2-hour continuing education course trains health and wellness coaches to deliver proactive mental health programming focused on prevention, resilience, and flourishing.

Proactive mental health emphasizes strengthening daily attitudes, behaviors, relationships, and environmental supports that promote well-being before mental health challenges escalate. This course equips coaches with a structured framework and tools to help individuals assess their current mental health practices, identify strengths and growth areas, and implement sustainable behavior change strategies.

Participants are trained to facilitate a proactive mental health self-assessment, guide strengths-based goal setting, and support individuals within appropriate coaching scope. The course also emphasizes ethical boundaries and referral practices, ensuring coaches understand when and how to encourage professional mental health support.

This course extends coaching practice beyond individual sessions by integrating behavior change with supportive social and environmental conditions.
